How long does my hair need to be for waxing?

Waxing relies on getting a good ‘grip’ on your hairs so they are removed with the wax – about the length of a grain of rice is a good measure, and long enough to ‘pinch’. This gives a nice clean finish and we can confidently remove all the hairs.

Lycon Hot Wax – which we use for Hollywood, Brazilian, and facial waxing if you choose that option when booking – can remove even very short hairs, so you don’t have to leave it as long between waxing appointments.

If your hair has been shaved, you’ll need a bit more length, as stubbly hair can be coarser and tougher to remove – leave it at least two weeks, preferably three, before your wax.

It’s also important not to have hair that’s too long. Anything over an inch is not recommended, as it’s harder for the wax to reach the skin where it needs to work. If it’s been a while since your last hair removal, have a trim at home before your appointment.
