Get the Dermaplaning GLOW
09 February 2022
You might have heard about the trend for Dermaplaning, and it's now available from heaven at number 7. here's what it's all about, and the pictures from my first treatment. ready to be impressed?
what is dermaplaning?
a dermaplaning facial is a deep yet gentle exfoliating treatment. a small and very precise sterile blade is used each time, gently swept across the skin to create the exfoliating effect. the aim is to remove the very top 'dead' layer of skin cells that can make the skin appear dull, and help stimulate the cell renewal rate, which can improve conditions like acne scarring, poor tone and texture.
what are the benefits of dermaplaning?
dermaplaning has many benefits. it can be taken as a stand-alone treatment, or alongside your normal facial;
- creates a healthy radiance and glow to the skin
- allows serums and active vitamin ingredients to more deeply penetrate into the lower layers of the skin, so you get better results
- prepares the skin to absorb more benefits from LED phototherapy
- creates a silky smooth finish that allows makeup to glide on seamlessly
- suitable for everyone, as there are no machines or electricals used, just hands-on facial
another side effect of dermaplaning that lots of people love is that it removes the downy, fine facial hair that is common particularly on the lower half of the face and neck. we recommend combining dermaplaning with dermalux LED phototherapy to finish (which is what i had in the results below)
how do you look afterwards?
amazing! after my treatment my skin felt firm, incredibly smooth and glowing. check out my before and after images to see the incredible reduction in redness around the eyes, complete transformation on my cheekbones where i always get blocked pores and congestion, and a general glow to the face.
after a demaplaning facial, you need to be careful on keeping the skin cool so no sunbeds, no heavy exercise, no sauna/steam rooms and (sorry), you have to stay makeup free for 24 hours. If you're a retinol user, we also advise you to avoid your retinol product for 2 to 3 days before and after treatment as it can bring up some redness afterwards.
sounds great! what are my options?
we offer dermaplaning in either a 60-minute no-fuss option or as a 90-minute facial treatment including the dermalux LED phototherapy (highly recommended). both options include double cleanse, extractions, dermaplaning and calming masque. go for the 90-minute option for the best dermaHeal advanced skin serums and LED phototherapy, £65/£85
the verdict?
dermaplaning is a fabulous skin pick-me-up for anytime - it's safe and non-invasive, perfect to pop up complexion before a special event or to enhance your skincare routine by helping those serums to penetrate better into the skin. what's not to love?
