How many sessions do I need? We always advise a minimum of 6 sessions are required to achieve around 80% reduction of hairs in a treated area, but most people want a little better reduction than that. On average, our clients tend to have 8-9 sessions per area.
Does laser work on blonde/white hair? If your hair is completely white, grey or very light blonde, sadly we won’t be able to offer you great results. A few people have seen reductions, but it’s hard to get hair-free result. Blonde hair that has a slightly darker root works, though you will likely need a few more sessions than your darker-haired cousins.
Is Laser permanent? Laser is fantastically effective at removing the hairs that are growing at the time you’re being treated. But because we are born with many more hair producing cells than are active at any time, new hair growth occurs throughout our lifetimes. Diet, lifestyle, stress, medication and pregnancy are all known to trigger new hair growth, and men don’t reach their hairiest stage until their 70’s! We can only treat the hairs we can see today, so it is realistic to expect that a few maintenance sessions will be required, every few years or so. It’s unusual for hair to ‘come back’, it’s more likely to be that new hairs have grown that now need treating.
Can I wax between laser appointments? No, it’s a one-time decision! Because successful Laser depends on the hair being present in the follicle, if it’s been removed by waxing, threading, epilation or tweezing, then you’ll have a wasted treatment. It’s best to invest in a good quality razor to stay fuzz-free between your laser sessions.
